History of Voith Paper in Russia
19th century
The engagement of Voith in Russia can be traced back to 1898 when a Voith mechanic traveled to the Russian Koschely (Borowitschi district), in order to install Voith wood grinders during the construction of a paper mill. Only one year later Voith delivered the first complete paper machine to Sokol in Russia.

20th century
In the late 70’s Voith and Petrozavodskmash Corp. started joint deliveries to several paper mills. Due to the good relationship among the companies Voith cooerated with Petrozavodskmash Corp. in the joint venture “PetroVoith Ltd.” from 1987 till 2003.
Three years later, in 1990, Voith opened a representative office in Moscow.
